Double Bill: Geoff Kaufman and Sally Rogers on January 19

Geoff Kaufman leads his audiences to the great truths, humor, and beauty in folk music. Ancient ballads, work songs, and songs of love; poignant songs of people in struggle, humorous glimpses of human foibles, and compelling insights into history are woven into Geoff’s concerts. Songs of the sea, the earth, the heart and the spirit—all can be found in Geoff Kaufman’s ditty bag.

Above all, at the core of Geoff’s performance is his rich tenor voice and an exuberant love of singing. And part of that love is to encourage audiences to sing along, to share in the exhilaration of full-throated vocalization. In this age of electronic overload, Geoff stresses the “live” in live performance, promoting participation, be it by voice or heart or mind.

“…we are stunned by the beauty of your music.” – a fan in Corpus Christi, TX

Keep writing. Keep singing. There’s a song I want to teach the Sloop Singers, but it really needs your tenor voice. It is a thrill to hear you hitting those high notes.

Sally Rogers, with her lovely and mesmerizing voice, will share the billing with Geoff!

— with luck, they will perform a few songs together.

Sally performs traditional, contemporary and original ballads, interwoven with stories taken from her life as a performer, a wife and a mother. She accompanies herself on guitar and Appalachian dulcimer, or performs in a voice that needs no further enhancement. “Sally Rogers has a clear, fluid and remarkably agile voice, a keen sense of drama, and a most refreshing sense of fun.” – Peggy Seeger
